| Brittay's Books were created in memory of my Brittany, age 4, she passed away in November 2001 of brain cancer. My sister and I searched effortlessly to find a book to help our other children understand the loss of Brittany. We could not find a book that was actually about a child and a child's emotions. So I decided to write and illustrate books to help families and young children for dealing with such a loss. A Butterfly for Brittany: Ages 4-8 Hug & Kisses from Brittany: Ages 9-12 While trying to help other families with children who have passed away with cancer I met a wonderful family searching for a book to help their eldest son explain the death of his baby brother Jake (in a tragic accident). I searched for a book to try to help them deal with the loss, but again, I could not find one. So, I wrote and illustrated one for them, this book is perfect to help explain SIDS deaths to another child. My Liddle Buddy Jake: Ages 4-8. During my time with Brittany and seeing all of the information provided by the hospitals about cancer and such, I was taken aback, how all the books about cancer, seemed to be so clinical.
